Orthodox Traditions Celebrating 12 Days of Christmas

Christmas Celebration

In Belarus, our Christmas celebration commences on the 7th of January. Yet, the spirit of the Nativity of Jesus Christ extends far beyond this day. The twelve-day festive period starts right after Christmas, culminating with the Epiphany on the 19th of January, the day commemorating the Baptism of Jesus Christ.

This season is imbued with warmth, light, and joy, echoing the message of Christ's advent, His earthly ministry, His triumph over evil and death, and the promise of eternal life.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the festivities at Saint Elisabeth Convent in Minsk. Enjoy a selection of short videos featuring Christmas liturgical chants and carols, a true embodiment of the season's spirit.
